I work at a restaurant and we were having a rough night (a big party came in 15 minutes before close). While they were eating a little girl was crying and I told my boss that she just started doing it for no reason.

My boss said, “Oh, so she’s bipolar?” With a huge smile on her face. She was talking to two guys, both of whom she has dated or is currently dating. I said, “Was that a shot? Because that’s pretty damn unprofessional of you, aren’t you my boss?” She said I tell everyone anyway, but I had just told someone about the medication I was recently put on and she was eavesdropping. But isn’t it a violation of some kind of privacy right for her to keep her mouth shut about things she’s overheard?

Recently my father was diagnosed with cancer, and during the operation to remove the tumor, they also removed a part of some tissue near or a part of his vocal chords. Actually I believe it may have been a nerve associated with the vocal chords.

Anyways, it tested negative thankfully - however now he has a high-pitched voice and he’s very conscious about it. At first he hated speaking in public, and I can tell it has hurt his pride.

When I was helping him get back and forth to his treatments, we would often stop to eat at a restaurant. At one point during a meal, I almost jumped two guys when I heard them snickering and laughing near us while my father was speaking to me. He’s become more relaxed about it nowadays, but still gets pissed whenever he has to repeat himself, and I know its strenuous on him now that he’s short of breath (lung cancer)
Although i can understand him fine, its mostly when others that ask him to.

Are there any surgeries to maybe one day help with this? It would probably do more damage then help…

Uh, I need to get rid of this guy, because I was just swimming in the pool minding my own business and then these two guys just came over and were asking me where I was from and my name, and age etc. then one of them said: Are you going to the sports bar later? and I told him I dont know, the truth is that I really don´t like any of them and I´m with my friend and I´m not looking for guys, but I don´t want to seem mean. Now they´re following me sitting next to me in the hotel restaurant, and in the hotel theatre, and I really want them to stop. PLEASE HELP

Im a filmmaker whos just starting out in NYC. Now, I can understand if I were to film inside of a government establishment or property, then yeah I have to get a permit. But what if I was filming something really simple and it was just outside? Like a date scene in a restaurant (I’d have to ask the owner for permission of course, but probably not pay for an expensive permit), or a creepy stalking scene in Central park? Or two guys hanging out on the NY subway? Perhaps a walk along the pier of Roosevelt Island? A local park, maybe a walk through Whatever Street. What’s the big deal if you’re filming scenes like that? No car chases, no explosions, nothing of that sort. Do you really need a permit for every single little tiny wittle scene?

I see people getting away with filming stuff on Roosevelt Island after dark and other stuff throughout NYC. So I don’t see what the problem is? This is a huge concern to me as a beginning independent filmmaker so that’s why I ask.

My friend says he wants to go eat at this cool place in town before we go to the club. But won’t it look gay if we go together?
