I’m 19 years old and have never had a job before. I have no experiences and no references because I was home-schooled.
I’m willing to work almost anywhere at places like Target, restaurants, Walgreens, Dominick’s, etc. but NOT Dollar Stores, Mcdonald’s, KFC, etc.
I want to make money to be able to buy things I need and pay for school.
How can I do this without experience or references?
Also, what should I list as my skills & how should I answer their questions?
Should I apply online or in person, which is more likely to be viewed?
Thanks in advance! x

Can anyone give me advice how to get a job.Im 20 years old, no experiance, no job, not going to school. For the longest time I have been filling apps for generic retail stores (gamestop, toysrus, michaels, target) and restaurants just to land a job somewhere. I almost always get the dreaded response “sorry were not hiring right now” or “sorry we arnt taking applications” then usually afterwards I get really depressed and stop job searching and then I go again and the same thing happens all over. Is there some sort of secret or process that I am missing?

okay,(:
there’s this super cute guy at the Church I go to and uhhmm…let’s just say that we’ve noticed eachother(:. I haven’t talked to him,but I reaally want to!
at church he’ll turn around a few times and we’ll make eye contact for a like second then he turns around again. *sigh*
he is sooo cute(:
anyways,I really just wanna know how to talk to him.
I’ve seen him around (like at target, and a few restaurants) and he’ll look at me and like I said during church he looks at me,so I know that he knows I exist.
I just wanna know A)why he looks at me, and B)how the heck am I suppose to start a small conversation with him without seeming…haha…awkward?lol

Is it possible to study for 2 things at once. Like, for instance, take online courses to become a Veterinary Technician and take classes to become a hair stylist at a community college? And doing all this while working at a Wal-Mart or Target, or a store in the mall like Hot Topic or Claire’s or even possibly working in a restaurant?

I am 16 and just hit summer vacation in Tucson, Arizona. I need a job but I have conflicting schedules. I have baseball from 7-8:30 in the morning 5 days a week and 32 games in 30 days with games starting at 5pm. I am very active and fit, but I am also very intelligent and want a more prestigious job (with higher pay). Starting in July, I can work full-time until school starts in mid-August, where I could go to part time until March when I would have to more than likely resign. Within 5 miles of me, there are these stores:
Blockbuster
Dick’s Sporting Goods
Sports Authority
Wal-Mart
Target
Safeway
Home Depot
Gamestop
Fry’s
Walgreens
Pizza Hut
In ‘n Out
Few private restaurants
What i’m asking is; what job would be best for me? Has anyone worked at these places and have inside tips? What jobs pay the best? What jobs are easiest? What jobs offer the best benefits? Any help would be appreciated!

I know I have to pay and all but I wanna know how it works. This is going to be my first time getting a restaurant.com gift card and don’t know how it works. The only reason I asked “Do I have to pay for restaurant.com” is because I am in this site (don’t wanna mention which site it is, just in case is against the rules here) that if you earn enough points, you can redeem gift cards and a $25 restaurants.com gift card was one of them and I want it to try it out. I checked the site out and I saw the restaurants options around my hometown and I saw the menus and there were plates under $25. Do I still have to pay for anything, is restaurants.com different from any other gift card like target, wal mart, etc? I ask this because of what I read on the site and hearing people mention, its about the discount and minimums of $35.00. I don’t know its something like this: Minimum 2 entrees. 18% Gratuity added prior to discount. Valid for Dinner, Dine In ONLY. Present prior to ordering. I got this on the “La Vie En Rose” restaurant on the 91766 zip code. And if different cities matters I live in Pomona CA. Please help me.
thanks

I searched walmart.com, kmart.com, and target.com for ‘color oops’ but nothing came up. Grr!! I don’t want to order it off Amazon but I suppose that might be my only option, huh? See, in my town, there’s a Walmart (which is my go-to because my mom works there), a Kmart (hardly ever go there), a Target (UGH), a Walgreens (I think), a Safeway, a Longs Drugs (do they sell dye sorts there? No clue), and like ten gas stations (among random other little clothing shops, kitchy little tourist places, and - duh - restaurants). So, among the places I’ve listed, do any of them sell Color Oops, Color Zap, something with the same effect?
Thanks in advance =]

I’m a college student, and my only real work experience is 4 years as a dishwasher/bus boy at a restaurant.
I’ve applied at several retail stores (Target, Wal Mart, Best Buy, Sears), but I’ve heard that none of them accept people without retail experience. None of them have called me back yet, and I applied last Thursday.
None of the grocery stores in my area hire people in the summer because they have loads of employees between the ages of 14 and 17 they need to give a fair amount of hours to.
Gas stations and fast food establishments seem like the only option to me, but don’t those both require experience too?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I’ve been applying for jobs like wal-mart, k-mart,target,wal-greens,CVS, certain stores in a mall and a few fast food restaurants online since last year. I can’t keep filling out applications online since there’s a limit to that. I am going to take my driver’s learners permit test this thursday. I am an 18 year old Filipina. What other jobs are an easy catch? i want a job with good pay, obviously. any suggestions on how i can get a job interview? I really want a job now.

Ok my fiend Amanda calls and says she wants to drop buy and is bringing a movie. i tel ehr to let herself in because I will be in the shower. After the movie we decide to go out to Target and then mayeb go get a beer (I am 26 she is 31). We decide to take separate cars, so I go out the garage and she goes out the front door.
The whole time she is here Amanda is in her socks which is no biggie cause I figure her shoes are at the front door. we get to target and I notice she is still in her socks. She says she didn’t bring shoes cause she just figured she was going to be at my house. She doesnt want to buy shioes or even flip flops at target, and then we go across the mall to a restaurant and meet some friends and go shoot pool and the whole time she is in these white socks which are pretty black by now.
This guy Conor who we just met told her it was the hottest thing he ever saw, but I thought it was kind fo tacky to come to my place with no shoes and really tacky to go to all the other places.
What do you all think?
I should have mentioned that she has a pretty good job and isnt hurting for money. She must have spent 100 bucks on the stuff at target including a picture frame and 3 pairs of jeans.
And i am more amused than uncomfortable. I almost bought some sock there so I could do the same thing. But if there wuz 2 of us it would really look like we were dorks.
