I just started working at a tiny restaurant with an old manager of mine from my first job. I got hired because she knew I was a great worker, and is using me to replace the two other girls who dont have a freakin’ clue and they have been working there for maybe a year or so. So my 2nd day running the place by myself, the drawer comes up $16 dollars short. (I know I didnt mess up, I had 5 orders the whole night and only one paid cash, and their change was only .72 cents) So anyways, the only way the drawer could have been shorted is during the day shft from the other girl. The owner didnt believe me and said next time it comes out of my pocket. What the hell!! I told him that we should count the drawer at the end of day shift to see who was short, but he said the receipt paper would get wasted and costs too much money. WTF do I do? I know these girls just wanna get me fired cause they know Im taking their job. Thanks for reading

I work for a small town restaurant. My boss always pays me on Saturdays at the end of my shift. Today he didn’t show up, and someone said he’d be in around 5, so i picked up my daughter and came back to get my money. when i walked in and asked about it he flew off the handle in front of all the clocked in employees, and my daughter. He accused me of stealing over 500 dollars over the past month or so, saying i was the only “denominating factor” that made seance, and since he knows I need money really bad right now, He’s pretty sure it was me. I stood there totally shocked for a few minutes, walked outside and put my daughter back in the car, than when i went in i basically asked him what proof he had, and to take it somewhere private. Well he didn’t have any proof, other than im the most likely suspect because im the person most in debt. I work for him 6 days a week, different shifts every day, and whenever he calls me in im there. After he got the initial accusations out, he than explained to me that he owed the IRS 25,000 dollars in back taxes, couldn’t feed his family, and was about to loose his house…He said no one at the restaurant cared about him, and it always looked like shit. I feel bad things are going terrible for him, but at that point i was pissed and basically said that didn’t have anything to do with me. I told him i didn’t need a job bad enough i was going to get accused of stealing, and basically told him in a nice way that he was a bastard and left.. Later i called him and asked for my job back since i kind of quit, and he said it was fine and we would talk tomorrow. What do you think this is really about?
X, I didn’t have anything to do with it. lol.
Anon- Hes got four cameras, any of which he could readily watch…but he rarely dose.

I just don’t understand it, Please no hatred or vulgar outright hateful answers, just opinions please. I’ve been a salesperson at a dealership for over 3 years, have a wonderful family, a college education (currently working on masters), a modest home, community active, and go to church every Sunday. But I’ve read a bunch of articles lately about “how to screw the dealer” or “how to trick the dealer” and just downright nasty comments about guys like me. People say we “steal” money or only want the customers money. Well yeah, I def want you to buy a car because it means I get paid. Of course. But that’s business. The lady who owns the hair salon wants you to buy so she can get rich. Sam Walton, owner of Wal-Mart practically perfected the art of profit making and “stealing” money from good Americans. The owner of the local grocery store, restaurant, cab company, it’s all the same… THEY WANT YOUR MONEY! It’s business. That is the ultimate goal, to turn a profit. Nobody haggles with the college kid at burger king over a whopper because they charge $3 for a burger and it only costs a little over a dollar to produce. Or what about a box of cereal that cost $0.49 to produce and can sell for almost $5.00. that’s 10X the amount the cost of production, and I’m the thief?!? The average new vehicle has anywhere from 6-12% most of which calculates out to around $1800 worth of profit. Yeah, sounds like a lot of profit for just one item but the dealer is also buying Millions of dollars worth of inventory at a time. And is a minimal ratio compared to any other product. Or even consider the profit turned on real estate. I bet you didn’t cry when you flipped your vacation home for a 25K dollar profit. I’m not a vulture, a sleazebag, convict, or thief in anyway or even considered by any friends or family as a dishonest or someone they can’t trust. But constantly on a daily basis, I’m the bad guy because you want to buy a car from me with the money you’ve “stolen” from your clients, or customers, medical patients, or students. It’s not stealing, it’s basic economics and business. If automakers and dealerships weren’t making money in even the least lucrative sense, there would be no cars period… or no goods or products at all in any industry in the same situation.
Bottom line… I don’t steal, nor does general mills cereal, or gateway computers. We all have a service or product which people want or need, that must turn a profit to continue…. If you cannot agree with any of this please leave an answer on why I’m still the bad guy and please leave any ignorant or abusive comments to yourself. Thanks
