you’ve liked this girl for years, and you lost contact with her. One day you walk into a small restaurant and you see her working there at the counter. What do you do/how do you feel?

i am a dishwasher at a small restaurant. after 2 days of working at the place i am asked to work both weekend days, where there is an average of 4 times as many dishes. to aid with this, there is always a 2nd person putting dishes away as i wash them, but he was not doing his job at all and i had to do it for him, so my boss would keep yelling at me to wash dishes when i had no more room on the shelf for the dishes that were not yet put away. after this, i knew i had a family vacation coming up and that i couldnt work one of the days that he had asked in advance. when i came in to reschedule he wasnt there, and the co-manager said hed take care of it for me because i didnt know the “guys” well enough yet to call them to take my place. well i called tonight asking what time i was working tomorrow and the co-manager told me they had taken my name off of the schedule and that i needed to talk to my boss about a certain “day that i elledgedly skipped”. i have to go in tomorrow to talk to him about this all, so if i am fired for these stupid reasons, would it be a bad idea to have fun by calling him “f*** face” or “captain f***ot” and flick him off or something? because he is a full on d**** bag and i have wanted to call him many of these things since day 1.

I need some advice. I’m just at my wits end. I’m 19 years old, graduated in 2009
I currently live with my parents. Got to school full time and work part-time.
I have been a waitress at a small restaurant for a little over 3 years. Recently it has become unbearable. Entirely too much drama for anyone to go through. I have sent applications to about 15 different places and have not recieved anything back. Tonight was just simply terrible. It was the last straw, so I called my sister (Who owns her own business) to ask what she would do. She said if I would quit she would hire me at the store, but I would have to move 60 miles to our hometown. I looked on my phone and found a house for $350 a month including all bills. This is very doable with what she said she’d pay me. So I put in my two weeks notice. My parents have been talking about buying a used trailer, setting it on their land and I would live there. The trailer would cost about 5,000. My mom is very upset. We do NOT get a long, and I feel that if we moved away we could become closer. We fight constantly, and she has said she wants me to move out. But as soon as I find a way to do it, she criticizes and thinks it’s ridiculous. She says rent is never worth it, and I would be living here practically for free. What would you do in this situation? I’m so stressed out, I hate it at my current employer. We work in a restaurant with no air conditioner. It’s miserable for customers, but imagine us running about. Anyway, that’s not the point. I just need some advice.
No. I would transfer to the school down there.

I work at a small restaurant and my manager is very unorganized. He rarely makes and gives out pay checks on time. In fact the last three have been about 2 to 3 days late. He takes money out of our checks for breaks that we do not receive. He also never has a set schedule for the employees including myself. We usually find out that we work that day or the night before. We do not clock in and out of work so if one of us leaves early or comes late he does not know. Out of the three years I have worked there I probably have only seen and/or talked to him about a year of the entire period. We do not have any order or training for new staff and we do not have a time-request off journal-record. How can I make all of this stop?

I was recently asked to become a waitress at the restaurant that I dishwash at. It is a small restaurant nothing fancy. (it’s at a small flying club). I’m only 15 years old and not the most comfeotable talking infront of people. Are there any tips you can give me. Not only for communicating with customers but also things like memorizing the menu and carrying food and drinks. Anything you can give me can help whether it has to do with those issues or not. They only need me as a back up and for busy days. Remember it’s a small place and only 2 waitress (3 plus me). Thanks again !!

I just started out as a waitress at a small restaurant. Today, a large party came in. They paid gratuity on the bill, but one of the ladies handed me an extra $20. I put the $20 in the register, not thinking much about it. When I told my friends about it, they said the $20 was only meant for me. So my question is, Can I pocket the tips a customer hands me?
