I’m going to SF with a friend of mine for a few days sometime soon, but we don’t know where to stay, or all the city has to offer.
We are looking for things that preferably don’t involve money, such as cool places to just go hang around, like parks and populated places and such. Nothing too touristy. We just want to see the city. Going to restaurants, malls, dinner shows and whatnot are not really our cup of tea.
Also, we are pretty hardcore ravers here in chicago, so some of that would be nice as well. But we still need things to do/see during the day.
What’s the best area to get a hotel room? A place that’s close to interesting things to do/see?

I am a gay male teenager still in the closet. I have been thinking a lot about coming out and I want to come out to my mom first. The questions of how accepting my mom would be of me have been bugging me constantly and I finally decided I have to bring up homosexuality with her casually and see what she says. I was at a restaurant in San Francisco on vacation and there were a lot of gay couples at a restaurant (Cheesecake Factory). I decided to comment on that (there being a lot of gay couples) and I was successful, the topic was brought up. She proceeded to tell me that she is “ok” and doesn’t have a problem with them. She even said she has gay friends. But then she proceeded to tell me that she isn’t convinced that it is not a choice. She said “I don’t know about that” in a questioning tone. She seemed to be under the old fashioned idea that it is a choice. I told her it was not, because that is true. She told me that one of her friends “became” gay and I told her that people don’t “become” gay, they are born gay. She seemed full of doubt at what I told her, So I am afraid that she might think I can change to be straight and become straight. So based off of this, do you think my mom is a good first person to come out to?

I’d like to know what the temperature is like in these two places during the summer months, and also what to wear (pants vs. shorts, long-sleeve vs. short-sleeve).
Also, if you know of any good attractions, restaurants, and/or sights to see, etc., I would appreciate your answers.
And, can you tell me anything else about these places (your experience living there, traveling to these destinations)?
Thank you so much
By temperature I mean weather in general.

Hi I work a popular family restaurant & I got promoted to a Sous Chef. I currently live in south California & my boss he wants to transfer me to Phoenix, Arizona to be trained & become a Sous Chef because the company open the new restaurant there. What holds me back is that I want to stay in the state of California & I’m very insulted the Arizona law. I’m 100% Hispanic & I also was born in Sacramento,Ca. I’m also dark skin & I do not want to be full over buy Storm Trooper cops either. To answer my question to you think my boss except my decision & would he transfer me to San Francisco instead? Thank you.
P.S. If your a human being, please answer my question with positive answer.
I wil talk to my boss in this Sunday because thats when he gets back from his trip & he denies my decision, then I will try to be Sous Chef in different restaurant. At least I will have more time in school & family.

Are there any Thai restaurants located in the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, Richmond, Hayward, San Leandro, etc.) that has on it’s menu Kana Moo Grob (Khana Mu Krop), Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork Belly? I found one place in San Francisco but my search via menus listed on Yelp led nowhere.

About me: I’m graduating from undergrad this spring and will be working for Cisco at their San Jose campus off Tasman. I’m male, love partying, and love trying new restaurants.
What I’m looking for: An apartment probably to share with either one or two other friends of the same age. Although I’d love to live in SF because I want as urban a living experience as possible, I’m guessing that commute would make me want to shoot myself. I’ve heard near University Ave in Palo Alto, Castro St in Mtn View, and Campbell Ave in Campbell might be where I want to look for an apt.
I absolutely want to live in an area where there are lots of other young, single recent college grads either in my complex or living in very close proximity. I want to be able to walk to bars and restaurants, and it’d be a bonus if I had a nice view from my apt. I don’t particularly care which city I live in as long as it has what I’m looking for - certainly open to San Jose as well. I’m also probably looking to go to San Francisco on most weekends to visit friends, so I don’t want to be south of San Jose. Price range is flexible, but probably around $800-1200/person for 2 or 3 people. Anyone have any thoughts on the most happening places for me to apt hunt (even better if I could get specific apt names).
