Open Question: Is it legal to be both a waiter/waitress and dishwasher?

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

I was wondering if there are any laws prohibiting a waitress from washing dishes because of possible health concerns? I noticed many restaurants have separate waiters and dishwashers.

Please and thank you for answers!

Open Question: I need a full time and possibly part time job please help with ideas please?

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Hey everyone i am currently a nanny butmy contract finishes in January. I have done my certificate 3 in childcare but if i get a job in childcare i will earn between $400 - $600. I need to earn min $600. So if i did get a childcare job i would then have to get a second job that can earn be a guaranteed $200 but i dont want to give up all my weekends and night. I do not know what to do . I could get another nanny job but i will be self employed with no benefits and i am getting married in March therefore i’ll need 3 weeks off and if i am selfemployed i have no pay for those three weeks. I am really stuck on what i can do. I have experience in hospitality but i really really want to avoid going back to that especially cause i have run out of pubs/restaurants to work at.

So if you can give me ideas on a second job where i can get the money i need. Or a full time job that will earn me to $600 - $700 without working a second job.

Please help i am stressing out like crazy i have under 4months to find another job HELP

Open Question: Children in restaurants. What would you do?

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Last week my partner and I went to a lovely restaurant by the sea, It was a spontaneous act and we don’t go that often. There were two other couples there and it was a lovely intimate atmosphere. Suddenly a group walked in of about 10 people and it became a bit noisier, but that was not the thing. A mother had her child there and was playing with it with a rattle for the next half hour. It really changed the atmosphere and suddenly I felt we were in a childcare centre. We didn’t say anything and left soon after, but it was an expensive restaurant and we felt cheated. Should we have asked her not to shake the rattle? It was most inconsiderate and she was oblivious to the environment.
They were on the other side of the room as well. Loud rattle

Open Question: Help me think of something ‘different’ to do in London tonight!?

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

It’s my girlfriend and I’s 5 year anniversary today (10th September) and we want to do something really special and really different in London.

The problem is we’ve both lived in London our entire lives and we really want to do something different, something that we couldn’t do on any other Friday.

We don’t really want to go to a show or anything like that as you can’t really talk and we want to spend the time together, we’ve done the London eye and boats on the Thames aren’t an option due to her aversion to being on the water. There’s amazing restaurants but again that’s something we could do at any time.

I know I’m being really fussy but we can’t really think of anything different so could anyone provide some good (and clean!) suggestions of things that we could do in London tonight?

Thank you in advance to anyone that tries to help.
Trevor
We’re staying in a hotel tonight so I’d also be open to suggestions of things to do tomorrow, Saturday 11th September.

Open Question: interior design?? college?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

so im a senior in high school and im looking into college (im taking a yr off of school so its not too late or anything)
for my career when im older i want to like design the inside of retail stores and restaurants –like decide where the tables go, what goes on the walls, how the store is set up, and the whole environment of the store/restaurant–

my question is- what would that job title be? and what are some good schools to look into that support what im looking for?
~~ i wanna look at schools in (or around) NYC because i live in connecticut and my whole family is from around here, i wanna go to school far enough away so it feels like im actually way like i would prefer not going to school in connecticut or massachusetts, but i dont wanna be too far where i wouldnt be able to visit my family at all~~

so i just wanna know basically what to be searching for - what job title that would be or like what category that would fall under, and also what it takes to get there

thanks :)
