Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Hello. My coworker wants to open his own small restaurant business and asked me to look for places he can rent to use. I am not familiar with this type of stuff at all so I was wondering where can I find open spaces or is there a site that’ll help me like craigslist?

Please & Thanks

Open Question: Sims 2 Open For Business Restaurant Glitch?

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

My sim owns a restaurant in the Open For Business expansion pack. Occasionally (more often than not), a customer sim will order food and when a server comes to the table with the platter and presents the food, the food doesn’t appear on the table and doesn’t register that it was delivered to the customer which earns me negative stars. It happens in different towns and with other sims that own restaurants as well. Anyone have the same problem or know what this is?

I’m wondering if I should go back to school and get a business or hospitality degree? Or if a culinary arts degree would be best? Any advice from restaurant owners/small business owners greatly appreciated! :) Thanks!!

Open Question: how can i think positive?and not to get depressed?life is to demanding?

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

my husband owns a restaurant and now business are not going well, people that they use to come there now they don’t, my husband feels very bad because the place is the only way to make money.
he wants to make things but because he doesn’t afford it he just postpone, i started to feel the pressure, why some people have everything and others have to work hard and not to have the necessary income? Also there is one girl who I really don’t like because i can sense that she is vicious, the think that i don’t understand she has many friends(some of my husband customers), how can they hand out with her?with us (me and my friends) she is very bad and self seeker and with other people she is totally different, the bad thing is that i like ti hang out with her company but they stop talking me for a reason that i don;t understand..and she all the time makes show-off in face book, she makes feel very negative but i feel very sad when people like her and they don’t understand how fake she is

Open Question: Good name for a restaurant-like business?

Friday, July 15th, 2011

I’m planning to start a catering food service(similar to delivering pizzas). Most of the foods will probably be based off of Ukrainian dishes. I am wondering, would it be a good idea to go with using Ukrainian names for dishes and a Ukrainian name for the business, or will that possibly have problems with Xenophobia.

The reason I ask this is that I have heard about many Businesspeople from different cultural backgrounds had to adapt more american names for their businesses and products due to their potential customer base being highly xenophobic(This is the same concept as people avoiding food from chinese restaurants due to xenophobia and stereotypes.

Open Question: If a company accepts emailed resumes & online applications is it best to do both or just send a resume?

Friday, July 15th, 2011

The company is a restaurant and the only way to send an application is online, but it also states that if you have a resume to email it to the provided email address or fill out an application. I don’t have any experience in the restaurant business, so should I send a resume and fill out an application or will one of the two suffice (I’ve asked this question before and a big thanks to those who answered- my internet has been down for a long time and I was unable to completely view those answers, but, again, thank you)?

Open Question: How come he only shows interest at night, through text while he’s drinking after work?

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

So, I’m in college. I work in the restaurant business.
I am pretty into music and I’ve never met anyone who see’s the same things I see in old blues rock and just 60′ and 70’s music at my young age.
In this new class I started like 4 weeks weeks ago, I met this guy. We exchanged numbers for a project and now whenever he goes out after work he texts me while he’s drinking. He also works in the restaurant business. Meaning we both get out every night like at 12 am - 1 am. He doesn’t drunk text. We talk about music, life, and anything we feel we should express. He remembers random things about me. He’s so easy going.

Our partners in class both started being absent for like a whole week. So he suggested we became partners, we laughed a lot and talked a lot.
Our partners came back and we went back to barely talking.
He’s so intriguing but in class, he barely talks to me. He comes up to me to talk but doesn’t seem like he’s looking to be next to me or talking to me. Then when we head out to our cars, he just goes off. Barely says goodbye. Why does he text me though?

I sorta told him in a text “too bad we cant kick it”
he said “what did you mean”
i said “it seems like im too lame for you”
he said “now you’re bullshitting”
and then said something like “ive been known to give a cold shoulder, but ignore me and go with it”
What does that mean? Go with it?
He said he’s been in some weird mood and that he was sorry about him and to not pay attention to that.
He said he “wished” our partners would partner up together…
guessing so we became partners again?
I said, yeah man.
But he is still acting the same..
What could this all mean?

By the way he is like 4 years older than me, but I’m proving I am way more mature than probably him. I know he see how smart i am. And not be sound cocky/obnoxious but I’m pretty and thin too. I’m so into him. When I smile with him, I find him still smiling for a bit longer to himself. I do the same. I truly enjoy his presence.

I’ve asked him, if he’s be in town this week, and he just says sometime and ends conversation. Like if he didn’t want to hang out.. but remember the text??
I’m so confused and frustrated :/

Open Question: How do I improve my fast food restaurant’s menu to match the big franchises?

Saturday, March 26th, 2011

I rescently bought a small fast food restaurant and business is slow. The food is good but is no match for the near by, big time franchises (KFC, McDonald’s) and their great tasting cheeseburgers and whatever else. P.S I don’t know much about cooking and don’t know any great chefs.

Basically what I want to know is, how would I go about producing a menu worthy of competition in such a competitive industy jam packed full of resourceful multi-national franchises and sucessful small businesses.
