the new policy is suspending workers if they call off work for ANY reason and what I want to know is if i call off sick and bring in proof i went to the doctor can he suspend me? What if I have to make my kids to the ER and have to call off? It would be great if you show me where you got the answer for example illinois dept of labor

All right, so my question is: Is it ILLEGAL for dogs to be in restaurants (on patios outside) in WA state? I know that service dogs are allowed but I have heard several different answers for all other dogs? I ask because I work in a restaurant where our rule is “no, not even out on the patio”. However, I know that several other restaurants in the same town allow dogs on their patio.
I need a link to where I can find proof that this is or is not illegal. I have not been able to find much info. The best I have gathered (which may or may not be true) is that it is not against the law, but is a recommendation.

As a server at a restaurant I declare my tips when I clock out and I make $300-400 a week. We get paid every other week. Well my pay stubs are only showing $200-500 for two weeks of work. I declare all my tips so there is NO way I only make $200 in two weeks; I make and report twice what is showing on my paystubs. I heard rumors that my boss was changing our tips in the computer and didn’t believe it until I reviewed my pay stubs while trying to get a car loan recently (I got denied because I didn’t make enough…). I am working on getting proof that he is doing this (ie: saving my clock out slips which show my tips that I declare) so that I may approach the situation with the upper hand. What kind of action can I take at his point on a local level or federal level? Also, can I be the recipient of any ill repercussions as a result of my boss’s actions?

I work at a baseball camp serving food out of a steam table. Sometimes when food runs out I need to cut up vegetables. one day my boss caught me cutting a cucumber and she stopped me and told me I need to be seventeen to use a knife in the kitchen. I’m fifteen and turn sixteen in two days. I was wondering if when I turn 16, can I use a knife legally? Any help will be appreciated, and if you have a “yes” answer please show proof that I can show my boss. THANKS

Pretend that this is true:

You want to change something about the country. You gather proof that what you wish to change will only benefit the country, and you can back it up with PLENTY of evidence. You have gathered a huge group of people that believe in the same thing, however, you are still outnumbered greatly in the grand scheme of things.

The change would be to eliminate half of the country’s fast food restaurants, and replace them with healthier businesses. No political views attatched to this one - just the health of the average human being (and in this case - the average American).

What would need to happen in order to convince the government to make this change?
It is obviously much harder than what is explained above.
Just curious on what needs to be done, really.
I wonder what steps one would have to take.

Also curious - what do you think would be the consequences of this action, were it to actually happen?
I seriously doubt it will.
But I still wonder of what you think about it.

Hi, I’m currently recovering anorexia and while I was at the clinic they taught me that I could eat everything I want, as long as it’s in moderation. I mean, I’m not talking cookies and cake every day, I don’t even like that stuff, but I mean that even restaurant food is okay in the right amounts. That all this diet and low cal and low carb stuff is… bull. Everything must be verified and approved before they are issued and it is illegal to hire anyone without the license to be employed in this country.

I know this may sound like Big Government and I hate big government. but if we do this it may curb out illegal immigration entirely.

I was supposed to work friday night at a restaurant but I wanted the night off so I called my manager and said I was hurt and couldn’t. I then told him I went to the doctor and that he said to stay off it for a couple days. I actually am injured, but I didn’t go to the doctor. My manager now wants a doctors note as proof that I actually went. What do I do?
