Open Question: Should I go to the job interview?

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

Hey there (: I am 15 and I just quit working at a greek restaurant (where I made orders, cleaned etcetc.) After I quit, I filled out an application to another restaurant called Noodle box. (They sell fresh cooked noodles… :s ) anyway.. The reason I quit was because I missed out on sport and I was too tired. The noodle box rang a couple days ago and asked if i wanted to do an interview and I said yes… Now I dont know what I want to do. I dont want to miss out on sports (I love it) and I want to Reeelax. Although I enjoy getting money to buy new sports clothes etc coz dad cant pay for them… what do i do!?! I have the interview in like an hour!!!

Open Question: I want to make beef lo mein.?

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

I want to make beef lo mein at home that’s close to the flavor of my favorite Chinese restaurant.

In the past I’ve tried some recipes from online but none came out even close.. I’m not even sure what type of noodle to buy… Most just ask for spaghetti and it turns out nasty. There isn’t a close by Asian supermarket, but my normal one has a decent variety, I just don’t know which to buy.

Anyone have a recipe that is REAL CLOSE to chinese beef lo mein in terms of sauce and noodles??

Please don’t just copy/paste your google findings.

Open Question: Why is this called chicken chow mein?

Friday, June 17th, 2011

I was trying to find recipes for what the Chinese kitchen calls chicken chow mein but all the recipes i’m finding for this has noodles in it. What they serve at the restaurant doesn’t have noodles just cabbage, chicken, celery, sprouts and some kind of clear gravy type juice. What is this then and what else do they put in it other than what i said above?

Open Question: Interracial dating conflict with my family?

Friday, March 4th, 2011

I love my family very much but when it comes to me and my happiness and my own choices I have problems with them.I was talking with my aunt about me dating and she says “She better be black”.I was upset and I told her the truth that I really don’t care what race my wife will be as long as she is beautiful to me,makes me fill complete and loves me.My cousin will get at me all the time too and I don’t like it one bit.

My mom and aunt are even rude at oriental and mexican restaurants. My aunt literally made unrelenting complaint after complaint about not wanting rice in her noodles at a Japanese steakhouse restaurant on my birthday(my grandmother served them it so much she hates it).My mom says all of the time that if I bring a asian girl home she isn’t sitting on the floors. It angers me so much that they say these things considering we are black and my grandmother, their own mother is half black and half native american. My aunt and mom will not except the fact that the themselves aren’t just black. My aunt even said no about me liking a girl I know from Africa.

It sucks so much how they are so discriminate and they themselves are discriminated against and I don’t know why they care that I marry someone who isn’t like them. It’s like they expect me to marry a relative or cousin.

Open Question: Do sushi restaurants usually have some other food besides sushi?

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

I’m going to visit my friend and go to her high school’s prom with her and some other friends. The group is going to a Sushi restaurant…I don’t eat Sushi, or any type of fish really (although I can eat cooked fish if I absolutely have to, it’s just not my cup of tea). But do sushi restaurants usually have at least some other foods besides sushi? I know the Sushi restaurant in my town has some other things like noodles and some traditional Asian food which I could eat…are most sushi restaurants typically like this or do some of them only have sushi? I just don’t want to get into a bad situation where there’s nothing I can eat there…

Open Question: One of my teeth crunched while eating soft foods, am I okay? All my points to best answer.?

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

I was at a restaurant eating some noodles with rice, nothing too hard or crunchy, when all of a sudden I heard this loud crunch in my mouth. I didn’t want to swallow, afraid of swallowing a tooth, so I rush to the washroom to spit it out, but theres no tooth. Instead, I find that one of my teeth are loose. I’m 15 right now and just recently got my braces off(but haven’t been wearing my retainers in the daytime). My friend tells me that I need a root canal, but i have no clue what that is. What happened? And will I be okay okay if I just start wearing my retainer 24/7 like im supposed to?
All my points goes to person with best answer.

Open Question: Anybody know the name of this Asian drama?

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Years ago, when I was just getting into Asian dramas, I watched one about a man who had to leave a diner in a hurry and left a bag with a pair of women’s shoes behind. Another girl in the restaurant picked them up, and though I can’t remember most of the following episodes, eventually fell for the guy.

Again, I don’t remember much, but a few scenes have stayed with me:

1.) Whenever the girl had a bad day, she’d go to this diner and eat several bowls of noodles or something.

2.) The guy’s car–a yellow Beetle?–gets covered in mud, and the girl cleans it for him during the night.

3.) The diner was owned by an older man, who had a crush on the girl. At one point, Shoe Man, the diner’s owner, the girl, and some other woman ended up going on a group date. I think Shoe Man and the other woman were involved somehow.

4.) The show ended with the diner guy opening his own bakery. The girl somehow got a better job and started dressing a little more nicely, and she was given a job opportunity somewhere farther away. She was going to leave, but by then Shoe Man had realized he loved her and was trying to stop her at the airport. She’d stuck in earphones and didn’t hear him until the very last minute.

I know it’s not a lot, but I’ve been wanting to see this again and see if it’s worth another viewing. Anyone recognize it? I don’t even know which country produced it, or who any of the actors were.
