Open Question: I’m doing audience research about this idea i have for a graphic novel. What do you think?

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

My idea:

A prison warden, is hired by the mayor to transport a bunch of prisoners to a medieval(by boat) - like city called “Golgotha” so that they can use them as slaves while the greedy mayor gets a bunch of money for it.
Meanwhile, two people are robbing the mayors house stealing all his good thingies, because they know about the trip that the prisoners are going on
and they plan to secretly hide on the ship so they can go too.
Meanwhile(again) a waiter at a nearby restaurant gives the chef the morning newspaper, and finds out that they need some cooks for the ship. They decide to do it, too and soon all 5 are on the ship the next day taking them to “Golgotha”>When they arrive their sailor tells them that they will have to stay for a while until they pick up some other passengers. Someone strange picks them up and invites them to stay at their hotel until their ship comes to pick them up.>While they are at the hotel, the king/lord/ ruler of “Golgotha” invites them to dinner at his palace, as a thank you for bringing him new slaves.

This the part where i get stuck on. i am not quite sure what should happen after that.I have not exactly come up with a main plot yet but I’ve had a couple of ideas in mind(above)

I am open to any feedback or comments and if you have suggestions for a main plot feel free to share.

Open Question: Does anyone know any stereotypes dealing with careers?

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

you know, stuff like..
Lawyers are all liers
People who work at fastfood restaurants are stupid or poor
People who work at restaurants in general get fat
Criminals are brutal, hang out in gangs, or rape people
and other stuff I can’t think of

It would be great if u can put it in a list. You can reuse the same career if u like ( ex. Lawyers are liers, Lawyers just want your money) in fact that would be awesome.^^

Please and Thank You!! :)

Open Question: Fun Places To Go In Your Pajamas?

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

My little sister is turning 13 and she is having a pajama party. She really wants to go somewhere with her friends IN their pajamas. My entire family has tried to think of something and has decided against going to a restaurant and getting any kind of food. If you have any ideas as to what they could go do, it would be VERY helpful. (We would like to spend as little money as possible so please no “take them shopping” or anything like that. thanks!)
Oh yeah… AND NOTHING STUPID!!!!! I just want her to have fun.
Oh yeah… AND NOTHING STUPID!!!!! I just want her to have fun, is that wrong or something?
I don’t know about where anyone else lives, but bowling is expensive here.
She is getting cupcakes.

Open Question: Where they correct in saying/doing this ?? (Family Restaurant/pub)?

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

Ok i went out and met some friends down a family restaurant/pub place today. We were catching up for her 18th Birthday.

We sat down in the area, as some of the girls were already there, 2 drinking soft drink and 1 drinking a beer. When the other girls went up to order some drinks (softdrinks and beer), the bar staff asked to see all of our ID’s. All the girls are 18

I am not 18 yet (till next month), so i was going to have softdrink (i am not interested in drinking alcohol, if i am not the age to drink it). The barstaff wouldn’t sell my friend who was buying (first drinks for everyone), the softdrink for me, because i don’t have a id saying i am 18??
They also said, we all had to leave because i was underage, even though we were in a Family restaurant.
The Lady said aswell, i couldn’t be there, because i didnt have a guardian. To my understanding, whoever is 18 and older, can be my guardian?? not like it mattered i was not drinking or have any interest in alcohol.

As we were talking to the staff, someone told us that we had to go and sit on the other side of the restaurant, only if we asked the the maitre d’. Then going over to her, she says we can only sit there if we buy meals, because the restaurant would be loosing money if we sat there (the restaurant was half empty too), with all the drinks and softdrinks we bought there. So one of the girls bought a meal, we sat down, then the maitre d’, said as soon as she was finished eating we had to leave.

Were they right in doing this, because my friends and I feel extremely p*ssed off, the way they bounced us around. Im just a little confused, as why i couldn’t even get a softdrink?

sorry this is long, but i am thinking of complaining, and im just checking if they were in the wrong or was i ?
Thankyou

Open Question: Employer Bashing Someone with a disability, or is it?

Saturday, April 21st, 2012

my son works for this restaurant and has been for about 2 1/2 years. He has a learning disability and has trouble reading. Yesterday during lunch at the restaurant the manager told him to hook up more soda because some was out, well he hooked up the wrong one. With a restaurant full of customers and other employees she yelled out at him calling him slow and saying that if he couldn’t read she would have to put him back on a night shift and that she didn’t have time to babysit “slow people”. Is there anything that can be done about this. She said that he could kill someone by hooking up the wrong drink. But all at the same time every single day she serve caffeinated coffee to customers who order decaffeinated coffee because it saves money and more people drink caffeinated. After she finished yelling at him she went to the front of the store telling the other employees that he couldn’t read.
she knew he had a learning disability when he was hired. To my knowledge he is the only one there who has this disability. When she got up front with the other employees he heard her tell them my 14 year old can do that. Her 14 year old also has a disability. Which startles me more. Why would she do that knowing that the same thing would offend her child.

Open Question: Is it illegal for Wendy’s to make my girlfriend pay back the register?

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

While at work my girlfriend made a mistake while wringing up an order, by selecting cash transaction instead of credit transaction, so when she made that mistake the register is saying that she owes $14. The manager at Wendy’s wants her to pay the register back $14 out of her pocket for her mistake. Is that even legal, and if it is, is that right?

I too once worked at a fast food restaurant, Jack In The Box, and if I made a mistake where I would owe the register a back amount, I did not have to take that money out of my pocket, nor would they take it out of my paycheck.

At the least I would expect Wendy’s to take it out of her paycheck, but never out of the workers own pocket. I believe this is the managers attempt at not having to deal with incorrect receipt logs, or what not. Mistakes happen, and I think this is close to punishment if they are to make her pay from her pocket to correct the anomaly in the logs.

So my question for you, is, “Is Wendy’s allowed to make her pay from pocket for her mistake?”

Open Question: Should I take this job?

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

Open Question: What to do about my two-faced, self-absorbed, rude, older sister.?

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

My sister is the worst. I am 12 and she is 14.

Reason #1: She only wants to an activity until I might have some fun.
Example: We were playing hide and seek (yeah we’re kinda old, but it was her idea) with one of my dads co-workers friend (16 year old girl). She made sure I was it. I spent a good 20 minutes looking for them and asking for them to come out. When they finally did, they confessed they heard me and then decided they didn’t want to play anymore.
Reason #2: She tries to make me look bad
Example #1: We were at a Mexican restaurant and I am not fond of Mexican food. I just ordered a hamburger from the kids menu. She then loudly remarked, so that everyone in the nearly empty restaurant could hear, ” She’s always the adventurous one.” , sarcastically.
Example #2: She know what things absolutely drive me over the edge, and then does them when were meeting new people. She makes remarks about my height (I’m 4′10”) and then leads people to believe that I don’t care and it’s all in good fun.
Reason #3: She doesn’t care about me.
Example #1: She has physically hurt me, and lets remember that I am a 4′10”, 94lb 12 year old and she is a 5′9” (ish) 130lb (ish) 14 year old. She will only apologize when my mom catches her doing it and makes her.
Example #2: Last Christmas I spent my own money to buy her a $20 book that just came out. It was the third of a series she had been reading and was supposed to be the last. You wanna know what she got me? My mom bought a bookmark with something on it like “Sister are the best kinds of friends” or an equally cheesy phrase and put my sisters name on it.

All these events have happened so many time, I have lost count. I have tried revenge, dealing with it, telling my mom, and telling her. None have worked. Can someone please give me solution?!?!?

Open Question: Do you think this guy likes me-Please answer?

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

I’m good friends with this guy and his sister so the three of us went out today and hung out for the day. We went mini golfing and he kept putting his arm on my shoulder. When we got to a dark tunnel hole I told him I was scared and he put his arm around me and was walking with me through it so I wouldn’t be scared. Then we all went out to eat and I wanted to pay, but he insisted he did. His sister was holding my money and I was trying to get some from her so I could pay for myself but she was running away and he blocked me and put his arm around me in like a sideways hug and was holding onto me and walking with me the other way so I couldn’t pay. Then I said “oww” even though he wasn’t hurting me and he said “Are you ok??” Then he led me to a bench and had me sit down. Then when we left the restaurant and went to a music store, he put his arm around me again and was walking with me. Then before they left he hugged me goodbye. So the whole day we were hanging out, it was like that. He would keep touching my shoulder, putting his arm around me, or hugging me. So do you think he was flirting with me or likes me or what?
