Bruce is considering the purchase of a restaurant named Hard Rock Hollywood. The restaurant is listed for sale at $1,040,000. With the help of his accountant, Bruce projects the net cash flows (cash inflows less cash outflows) from the restaurant to be the following amounts over the next 13 years:
Years Amount
1-9 $98,000 (each year)
10 106,000
11 114,000
12 122,000
13 130,000
Bruce expects to sell the restaurant after 13 years for an estimated $1,140,000.
a) Bruce wants to make at least 9% annually on his investment. Calculate the total present value? (Do not round PV factors. Round your answer to 2 decimal places. Omit the “$” sign in your response.)
Halp?

Koi, STK are my two main picks. Two other ideas? There is Beso and Katsuya. Anything better? Only answer if you are “in the know.”

My mom and I are going to L.A. to visit my sister, who lives out there. We have lots planned, listed below. But I was wondering if anyone knew of things to do that aren’t being so heavily promoted on all the “tour LA” websites (e.g. the Paramount Backlot Tour that we’re going to do). I wanted advice on things that everyone should do, but that maybe we haven’t thought of yet (perfect example, like my mom’s list included the trip to Sprinkles for a cupcake) ANY and all ideas are greatly appreciated! P.S. My sister’s covering nighlife, so I don’t need any club or bar ideas, My little sister has that covered!
Things we’ve thought of:
- Backlot tour
- Tour of Beverly Hills/Star homes tour
- Hollywood sidewalk
- Cupcakes from Sprinkles
- Dinner at Gordon Ramsey’s Restaurant
We’ll be there 5 full days, 4 nights, so we still need LOTS of ideas!
Anything within a comfortable drive is fine (up to an hour)

My partner and I are going to L.A.May 3-7 to visit Universal Studios, Magic Mountain, and tour Hollywood. One of those days we are going to the beach and would like to know more about the “gay” area (if there is one) of the beach; best bars/clubs in the L.A. area; gay friendly restaurants (both casual and romantic); fun “to do” places; and/or “must see” attractions. Thanks!
And please don’t ask or reply anything stupid or immature…especially when you don’t know what the hell you are talking about.

I grew up in LA country, but i live in the valley and i am not familiar with the “celebrity hotspots.” My cousin (from Buffalo, NY) is coming to visit in May for two weeks and she wants to go places to see celebrities. We’re both under 21, so we can’t go to bars and clubs.
last year i took her to hollywood blvd during the day, but it was just a bunch of tourists and, forgive me, but weirdos. she doesn’t care too much about touristy stuff she just wants so see celebrities.
does anyone know of any restaurants or cities where celebrities would likely be spotted?
we’re gonna try calabasas, but i don’t know where else to take her. i don’t really pay attention to that stuff, so i guess i’m not a great tour guide lol. but if someone knows, that’s be great if you could give me some good locations!
anywhere you can think of would be cool. thanks!
