Ok i have asked a few questions slightly similar lately, but I am really in need of help here. I am a newly single 19 year old male from a state that has very little to do and very little people. I have been going around lately to everywhere i can think to go, but I have not yet found a single girl to talk to, and when I say everywhere I mean mall, movies, restaurants (both sit in and fast food), bookstores, grocery stores, game stores, walmarts, targets, and the local parks. All this to no avail. I am looking so hard because I am extremely lonely, and have absolutely no interest in making any new friends that are guys. I don’t know why, but I don’t want to talk to any new guys cause i don’t see the point. If i ever want “guy time” or do something with “just the guys” then i just go do it. I really only want to meet a girl to talk to and hopefully date. I do not go to parties because I am not a social person and don’t like social situations, so I don’t really want to meet a girl that does. I don’t mind going out with a girl somewhere, but I just don’t like a lot of interaction with a lot of people. I also do not smoke or drink and won’t even consider talking to a girl that does. I am a decent looking guy ( 7 times out of 10 i am called cute) and I am pretty nice. I am just going crazy and am getting very sad. I also don’t go to school so i can’t meet girls there. Also i work in a pharmacy and there are no girls my age that ever go in there or work there, except for very rare occasions when they are there with the parents or grandparents. Will someone please help me being this alone is really effecting me in a negative way and I don’t know what to do. I have basically lived alone since 14 and as you can guess i wasn’t very popular and have been facing this loneliness for 5 ears already except for the times i had a girlfriend which is the only time i have ever been happy. Will someone please give me a suggestion on what to do or something please I really need the help right now.

I’m having the most difficult time deciding what I should do with my life. I feel awful about it as well because I’m 26 years old and just now deciding to enroll in college. I’m so confused about what to take. My number one concern is taking something that pays well. I just don’t want to be stuck earning less than 40K per year. I have two children and am a single mom. I’ve got to get my own place as well, right now, I’m going through a divorce and having to pay for that and then trying to get back on my feet since me and my husband have split up, so I’ve decided school would be the best way to start a new life.
I just don’t want to take something and waste 2-4 years of my life. I want it to be something I’m truly interested in. So far, I’ve worked in manufacturing plants (which I’ve hated), grocery stores, fast food restaurants, ect. None of that is for me. I’m thinking of a career in Nursing, but I’m kinda iffy about those long hours and being away from my kids for that long, as well as a career in medical billing/coding,… but I’ve heard there aren’t many jobs for that and the pay is low…….. :(.
So, I’ve thought about accounting, but I’ve heard it’s stressful and hours are ridiculous and pay is low unless you have a four year degree…
So, I’m just really confused! The last thing I want to do is take something in college I’m not interested in.
How did you finally figure it all out? Or, did you just know from the start?
Another thing is that I don’t want to spend forever in school. I want to be in and out within two to three years because after all, I’ll be 30 soon and I just want to get it together for me and my children before it’s too late. What’s so bad is that although I’m interested in a couple of job titles, I don’t exactly know what the jobs involve bc I’ve never done them. I’m just really confused, but i know I want to take something. And another thing I’m afraid of is that i’ll take something and there won’t be any jobs for that when I graduate…..

I’m 16 and in high school and I have looked everywhere for a job. People are either not hiring at all or not hiring people “my age”. Apparently they don’t want 16 year olds because of time restrictions and all that stuff. I seriously need a job because my parents are unsupportive and I would like to get out of the house more and not have to mooch off of them all the time. And I’m serious too. I don’t want any bullsh*t answers like “Lemonade Stand” or “Paper Route”. I’ve tried everywhere. Grocery stores, restaurants, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, etc.

I’m 15, turning 16 later in the year and I’ve been applying to places, with no luck. The problem for me is that I don’t know where to apply. I’ve applied to places I want to work, but so far no luck. I know, being 15, there isn’t much options, and not many employers will hire you at 15 unless they’re desperate for work. I know being in the middle of August, there isn’t much chance to get a summer job, but I’m looking for a job all year round. I actually have two questions:
1. Is there a greater/better chance of me getting a job once I turn 16?
2. Is it bad for me not to get a job at 15? I always worry because most people I know who are 15 have jobs (they don’t work many hours).
Thats another thing. It pisses me off seeing someone get a job by asking. If they tried before and failed then I’m fine with it, but I’m talking about someone who never tried, and figures they should ask someone to do it for them. People who don’t feel like applying, and just want to get in the easy way. I hate people like that! Because people who’ve been trying and failing deserve jobs more than the person who just wants someone to do it for them. ARGH!!!
Also: Don’t say work online, or any fast food places. Try to mention either grocery stores, or department stores. Typical restaurants are fine, but no fast food.

Do you think marijuana will be legalized or decriminalized like in Amsterdam, if so do you think there will be coffee shops here in America. Do you think they will sell it in grocery stores? Restaurants?….why or why not. Also please don’t be ignorant.
Laura T what is the name of the elementary school that taught you to read, obviously your teacher just wanted her pay check and didn’t care about your education…people like that need to be fired from there jobs.

My resume is based mostly around my experience as a musician..handling equipment, performing at various places, how long i’ve been playing.. etc
I have my highlights of qualifications : reliable, punctual, self motivated etc and my education and volunteer experience on there also, but no real job experience.
If i’m going to be handing these out at
grocery stores, clothing stores, book stores, restaurants and any other places for a part time job would this music experience be completely irrelevant? Or is any experience good? How could I go about changing my resume to fit all sorts of places if I don’t have the experience to back it up?
Please + Thanks!

I’m 5′10″, I wear a bra size 36c, and I’m sort of reserved until I’m more comfortable with others. And never had a man or sex!! It bothers me mucho because my friends have all had these experiences and I’m left out. Guys look at me some at random places (school, restaurants, bus, trains, departments stores, grocery stores, the streets haha)
So yeah, I don’t get why it’s never happened to me before. Is that bad? Cause the vast majority of girls I know are taken.

My boyfriend and I are looking to become better, healthier eater so we can try to incorporate healthy balanced meals into our diets. The problem is though, that neither of us are very creative when it comes to cooking meals. So more often than not, after a week or two weeks of cooking, we run out of recipes or ideas on things to make and eventually that will lead to us going out to restaurants or getting take out, etc. which we really want to try to avoid not only because its obviously not as healthy as cooking your own meals, but to cut down on expenses as well. Does anyone have any book suggestions or maybe websites that they know of that come with healthy recipes that aren’t for super advanced cooks, don’t require a long time to cook as we both have full time jobs, and that also don’t require a lot of specialty ingredients not found in common grocery stores?

I’m 19, with a GED, trying to find an entry level job. I’ve had two holiday jobs from November to December of 2008 and 2009, one at Hallmark and one at Macy’s. I’ve mostly been applying to entry level, part-time positions in retail stores, grocery stores, and restaurants. Aside from my two months of retail experience, I’ve been volunteering at a soup kitchen once a week since March of 2009, and in the kitchen of a senior center since January of this year.
Anyway, I’ve heard that it’s valuable experience, but, in the only interview I’ve gotten a hold of since last November, the hiring manager at a burger joint seemed completely underwhelmed by my food service experience because it isn’t paid. On the other hand, he seemed to be a closed-minded person in general because he made comments about how he didn’t trust female employees to do many of the tasks in the restaurant.
From the perspective of a hiring manager in entry level store positions, do my 15 months of volunteer food service outweigh my pathetic two months of retail experience, or do they absolutely not care at all?
Agh, isn’t there anyone on this website who isn’t spamming anymore?
