I’m used to dating guys who can afford to take me out, look good, travel, buy dinner at fancy restaurants, and spend money to do things with me.

Now I started seeing a guy, he’s 32, i’m 23. He has no real job, he’s a teachers assistant while working on his thesis, which he’s been doing for four years now. And he’s broke. He can’t buy me drinks, can’t take me out, can’t buy anything. But we have a lot in common and I find him interesting and he’s super into me. He’s got this hippy backpacker vibe I like, but I dont find him physically attractive.

Am I being superficial for being so totally turned off by this lack of money and good looks?
we’ve been on three dates, we are a looong way from “love” and i’m leaving the country for 6 months in the fall so its a short term thing. (although he said he will maybe find a job so he could come with me if i want him too…)

I already have a place to stay, I’m just looking for a site that can give me good restaurant and travel recommendations?
