Would you use a delivery service that could bring you food from any restaurant?
I am interested in any responses slash opinions in regard to a third-party restaurant delivery service. My hometown of Findlay, Ohio, is by considerable accounts known for its many restaurants, and the cost of living here, at least for housing, is definitely not cheap. With that in mind, I can’t help but to believe this would be an ideal place to start a restaurant delivery business. Actually, I am even comfortable just saying an organized experiment.

I understand there are many things to consider before just jumping right into something like this, and, I am prepared to shoulder the responsibility. My first pursuit would be to speak with restaurant ownership in attempt to acquire commissions on the orders I deliver for their customers. If negotiations fail, I would still deliver food from their restaurant, except the delivery charge would be slightly higher. In practice, I would than be making money only on tips and delivery charges.

I am totally ok if this pursuit does not make me richer than bill gates. I am a student trying to make ends meet, and I figured as long as just a small fraction of the population used my service on a regular basis, I could very well expect to make at least rent money.

So, what’s the likelihood that you or your family would use such a service and how often? I would deliver from any restaurant (chain, or family), and would say tipping is optional and delivery charge would be anywhere from $3-$7 (depending on amount of food) and never higher than $7 except for long-distance deliveries.

All responses welcome!
**i forgot to mention food prices would be normal, no mark-ups
