Hi! While finally having booked our WDW package, I am now totally bewildered by the dining options. I got two subquestions: 1) We got the Quick Service dining plan. Does that mean we get points for the whole trip which we “spend” to buy food, or do we have two quick (fast food?) meals per day and can’t move the “credit” to a later date? 2) I read that some folks book restaurant reservations THREE MONTHS ahead. That sounds crazy. But my real question is, which are the best restaurants that are actually WORTH our effort to try to get reservation? (Can we add up quick service “points” to get a sit down meal?) THANKS!!!!!!!!
Thanks! Amazing answer; but I noticed that some of the sit-down prices are like $34 and up, for the dinner choices. Is that the normal pricing??? If so, maybe we will skip the sit down and just stay with the quick service (???)

I just started a new job- its not the greatest but it will do for now. I was out of work for months and have a family to support.
I work in this restaurant as a server. The tips are ok, nothing to write home about though. The restaurant is one of those fast food places, busy in the morning making breakfast and greasy burgers at lunch time. I would imagine for a small restaurant about 200 people a day come in and out. I even met a group from China-they were selling chickens to the restaurant- Its one of those places where everyone knows your name!
My dilemma is this! The chef/owner is always sick, really sick, fever, blisters, hacking coughs, sweats, black skinspots and constant sneezing . He said its normal for him.
Most recently I have noticed some of the workers here with the same symptoms.
And this week three customers I noticed had those same black skinspots.
I really need this job-Should I tell the owner to take some Nitequil or Tylanol.
ANy advice would be helpful! Kofff K

As a kid growing up I remember going into a restaurant, even remember going into Denny’s and breakfast nooks and seeing a diverse group of people, black, white, and hispanic, but NOW all I see my waiters are Mexican, and barely speak English, and all the kitchen workers are Mexican, and then the president has to wonder why the unemployment rate is so high.
Even hotels now all the cleaners, bell people, luggage, and valet attendants are all Mexican. I bet the employers of these companies are paying them less, cash and under the table and raking in the benefits while Americans are unemployed.
I mean when I was a kid age 12 I used to mow the lawns in my neighborhood and did the paper rout, and had a job working fast food. Now you can’t even GET a FAST FOOD JOB, unless you speak spanish.
No I am from CALIFORNIA

I’ve worked in fast food and also a casual 40’s style diner as a hostess/server before. I have a job interview coming up this Wednesday for a restaurant in the city part of town. The place I have an interview for, in my words, is a quite ‘fancy’ restaurant.
I’m a persistent worker and I’m skilled with ‘breaking out the charisma’ in situations like interviews. However, there is one problem. I don’t know how I should present myself.
I’m considered ‘middle class’ yet at the moment, being jobless and all, I have no money to go buy nice clothes. Normally to job interviews I wear jeans or skinny black pants and a nice shirt. I’m worried, for a place like this, it will make me come off as unprofessional.
I know this sounds rather silly and naive but how should I present myself? Again, I don’t have the money to buy nice clothes at the moment so what should I wear? Should I wear my hair up or down?
Also, how much make up is ‘too much’? In society’s terms nowadays, women who don’t wear make up come off as ’sloppy’. Women who wear too much come off as ‘caked on’. What amount is acceptable? I normally have a ’40’s based’ (bright red lipstick, light/almost skin coloured eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara) make up style going on, which is why it was acceptable at my old job since it was a 40’s based diner. Should I tone it down? Ditch my red lipstick, eyeshadow or eyeliner? I’m 18 but, even with makeup, practically look like I’m 14 but makeup helps some.
Any feedback before Wednesday would be much appreciated. I know how to present myself in words. I even know a little ‘no gos’ which influenced me to take out my gauges and I’m going to take out my facial piercings for the interview. What I’m unsure of is the clothing, makeup, and hair.
Thank you in advance.
The predicament is I don’t own formal or nice clothes and I only have $1.48 to my name.

Or do you find it to be petty ? I ask because I went to Macdonalds tonight for a quick snack and I got a double cheeseburger meal. I opened it up and the burger was like, ice cold and the fries were soggy. I went back and the cashier who was super rude, was like “Couldn’t you just heat up the meal?”"No ? I paid for a fresh meal - I’d like a fresh NEW meal, please” and she was so reluctant to give me one. I only argued with her for less than 30 seconds though before I asked for the manager, just to make things easier.
Would you return food if it’s cold ? Would it depend on whether or not you were in a fast food place or actual restaurant ? I’ve returned food at both, because I believe that if I’m paying for a meal that’s supposed to be hot, it should be hot when I get it. Some people I know think it’s silly to return cold food.
What do you think ?
