Open Question: Can I use euros to buy food during my layover at Heathrow?

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

I’m traveling from the USA to Europe for the first time this October. I’m flying from New York to Rome with a layover at London Heathrow.

I’m about to order foreign currency through Bank of America, and one concern just crossed my mind.

Could I use euros to purchase food during my layover at Heathrow? Would the restaurants/bars in Terminal 5 (where I’ll be landing and departing) accept euros instead of pounds?

It’s a 4-hour layover, so I might want to eat lunch before my connecting flight to Rome.

But I don’t want to carry euros AND pounds with me on my trip. That would cost me too much money, especially with current exchange rates.

Open Question: Don’t you agree, the Chinese are the most racist people?

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

OK, I am Indian and had a terrible experience in a Vietnamese restaurant today. These people actually are indebted to our culture for a lot of things while the Indians never really took anything from them. Sometimes they like to brag about 4000 years of civilization. How about 6 to 7000 years of civilization you wide eyed idiots? Am I being bashful? No. I think they are idiots. I am defining idiocy to be not being well civilized towards how you approach other people. One of the first signs of being civilized is to be hospitable towards an outsider if the individual poses no threat. They lack that. They only and only want to be with, pull up, deal with or do whatever a human being does in his lifetime with well, their own kind. That’s absolutely OK with me. But to do that you need to be in your own country or “homeland”. You can’t go to a foreign land and act this way or if there are different kinds of people you can’t act that way. They sometimes talk about how Whites were killing each other when they were “building” stone structures. For your information, twentieth century civilization is mainly European Civilization. What the Europeans, later Americans have given the world in a few hundred years is huge compared to what you have given the world in 4000 years. See, I am Indian and I am saying that, because it’s true and I realize (due to being civilized for thousands of years more than you) that being civilized has a lot to do with being tolerant and hospitable and understanding than parading and talking about how you built a huge wall. I already know the answer based on “not stereotyping”, but on real life observation. But, I want to still pose the question to probe people’s attitude and opinions. Do you agree with my so called observed opinion?

PS: Don’t you think if Americans and Russians wanted to they could obliterate you being the first ones to have the A-bombs? You guys come to or immigrate to America, Europe and they let you stay, do business, study, work without little or no prejudice and you guys think you are civilized? Anyway, sticking with each other has its own advantage, but buddy, communism has been shown to be a volatile system and if you can’t live with others you will end up in a bad situation.

Open Question: Where should I go in England/Europe?

Sunday, July 10th, 2011

Well, next summer, I’m spending a month in Europe. I’m staying with my aunt in Northhampton and I want to start planning immediately–I’m kind of anal about things like that. Where are some good places to go in England, and the rest of Europe? I was thinking of sticking mainly to England, Scotland, Wales, France and Italy. I’d also really appreciate any restaurant/store suggestions from the locals as well. Thanks!

Oh, and even though I’m seventeen, well, I’ll be almost eighteen then, but anyway, even though I’m a teenage girl, I still love, love, love my history. :D Any help will be extremely appreciated!

Open Question: Whoa! I just found out some people eat lampreys up in Alaska!?

Monday, December 20th, 2010

According to wiki, lampreys have long been used as food for humans. They were highly appreciated by ancient Romans. During the Middle Ages, they were widely eaten by the upper classes throughout Europe. I guess those ugly things could be pretty taste.

There were even quite a few lamprey recipes online. Have you ever tried or heard anyone tried lamprey before? How do they taste? How many dared to try lampreys if they were served in a restaurant?

Open Question: Why is australia wanna be so european and australia is trying so hard?

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

Why is australia wanna be so like america and so like europe? I really hate kevin rudd because he is a idiot and doesnt do nothing for me not the economic when i was kick out of work because of him.

So why is australia trying so hard to be like europe? has australia has lost thier blot? course seriously australia is not been to themself… they see things in europe and now australia copies and wanna be europe style….

How about anzac days? its recently i see that anzac day is more popular then what it was 20 years ago ?

How about restaurant foods in australia? why isnt there anything traditional australian good meals but instead they wanna do japanies and american and european recipies..?
course australia dont have no history on food and australia doesnt have anything history to really want to read about.

Australia should do australian things with aporiginals either it is meals and traditional. Not act like europeans and pretend we are fucking euros and americans…..

Seriously if adolf hitler was around i would had been keen to see hit and end over the pacific.

REMEMEBR there are tours and people visit australia.. we didnt came to australia to eat european food when i come from europe… i came to eat australian restaurants everything about australians not just places where it has some what copy cats about european of anything in australia…

trying too hard im sure… Thats my ideal there.. wont be returning back.
