Asian foods supplier Union International Food Co. has again expanded its recall of products because of concerns about possible salmonella contamination. This latest round of recalls includes 51 Uncle Chen and Lian How branded sauces, oils and pastes, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said last week.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration said pistachio producer trade groups have provided an online list of products they say do not contain nuts implicated in a recent salmonella contamination, but the federal agency stressed it has not verified the information.

In a move that could reduce sales and complicate operations at some restaurants, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Monday advised the public to temporarily halt its consumption of pistachios until investigators better understand the extent of Salmonella contamination detected in lots from a major supplier and where the suspect nuts may have been distributed.

After 11 people became ill after eating raw oysters at a restaurant in Chattanooga, Tenn., the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has warned foodservice operators and retailers to avoid selling oysters from a certain section of Mississippi’s coastal waters.
