Open Question: Boyfriend is leaving for college, gift ideas?

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

So, I want to buy a present for my boyfriend. He buys me stuff all the time and I rarely get him anything due to the fact that usually I am broke and that I have a hard time finding something he’d like. He’s going to start his first year at ASU this fall and will be living in a dorm. I want to get him a sort of farewell gift that is meaningful and shows him I love him. Here’s a little info: we’ve been dating 2 and a half years. He is 18. He isn’t really interested in sports but he is a very talented musician. He plays ukulele, guitar, piano and saxophone and basically any instrument you throw at him. He drives a ‘95 Camaro and LOVES his car. His favorite band is The Beatles but I don’t think he really cares about band merch. He works at a restaurant and at a record store.
It’s not that I don’t know what he likes, it’s just he never really expresses what he wants and if he doesn’t tell me, I have a really hard time figuring it out. Anything that has some sort of silly, cute meaning behind it usually tends to be impractical or just lame (we’re kind of a weird couple). So what do boys like? What would YOU want? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

PS I’ve already outdone myself with homemade cards and other little crafts which I find to be very cute and romantic. I want it to be something more than that.
I think I can go wrong with something edible. Hah, for just about every other gift giving occasion I have made him a card (or other craft), written him a lenghty letter and baked him something delicious. It’s not that he doesn’t appreciate it (or act like he does), I’m also just tired of giving him the same old thing!

Open Question: ANOTHER COLLEGE PAPER??? Why yes indeed it is! Would you please mind helping me?

I’m writing a business proposal for a place I’m interning at, and that is to be reviewed by a professor. It’s basically regarding a free online database for alternative and/or medicine. In order for it to be free, we need to make money off of advertisers. Who would be good businesses to talk to about paying to advertise on our website?
There is a few criteria:
1. They should be small local businesses that generally cater to sustainable living, such as fair trade products, hand-made crafts, family-owned restaurants, and food co-ops.
2. If they are big business ideas, then they should hopefully be somewhat in sync with the basic philosophy of economic equity and sustainability. We want more than anything to help promote small businesses, especially during these economic times, but it wouldn’t hurt to have a few large ones on there too.
We also would like any advertisers to be unconnected with pharmaceutical companies, if possible.

Just respond to this question with ideas, or shoot me an email if you have further questions or wish to share information that you don’t want posted on here.
Sorry, I meant it’s a “free online database for alternative and/or HOLISTIC medicine.”
