This isn’t about the little bit of money I might save, it’s about the curiosity only! Please don’t ask me why I’m asking this just about that.
Okay, so here we go:
Do you work at one of those little fast-food restaurants that has one of those lame policies that even though when I order food inside, I can get one of those little plastic water cups that’s too small for a lid, free, but when I order food through the drive-up and want one of those little cups free, your restaurant won’t give me one, but instead you insist on making sure you sell me one of those just-slightly-bigger paper cups with the lid? If so, then WHY? What if I don’t CARE if it has a lid on it?
And before you can jump in and say something like, “Because if you spilled your hot chocolate milk on yourself, you might sue us,” let me just say that NO, we’re not talking about a HOT drink here, like that hot chocolate milk. I’m talking about a simple cup of the averagely cold water, so this isn’t something like one of those infamous lame lawsuits. So… since a lawsuit is out, then if you have a policy like that, why can’t I still have one of those little lidless cups of water at the drive-up, the same as what you’d give me if I’m inside the restaurant?
And then, before you say that it still has something to do with driving away with a cup of water that doesn’t have a lid on this, let me ask you these things, too: So if I was at the drive-up and asked for the paper cup (the kind I have to pay you for) of water, but without a lid, the would you still sell me that cup of water without the lid (because you got your measly money)? If yes to that one, then why would you not give me the little FREE PLASTIC cup, even though then it would be just like handing me the paper one without a lid?
Why do I not want a lid? No, it’s not about that. The point is about that if there’s a free cup available, that just doesn’t HAPPEN to have a lid, then I should be able to get that whether I’m inside or at the drive-up.
And, along the same line as the above paragraph, if I walk into the building, and then you would let me take the lidless plastic cup of water out to my vehicle because I ordered the food to go, then why would you not do that through the drive-up? If it’s about having a lidless water in my vehicle (and still your lame worry that I might spill the COLD water on myself and sue you), what’s the difference between letting me take that out to my vehicle and just handing it to me through the drive-up?
Okay, will you please come back and see what follow-up resonses I might have for your answers, so that you can know what to edit your answers with to add your follow-up responses to mine? Thanks, if so.
