I’m planning a trip to the Algarve with my son at the beginning of September, we’re 38 and 18 years of age.

Things we are hoping for:
A fairly peaceful area to stay.
Within walking distance of beach, shops and restaurants nearby (We like to try fresh, healthy and local dishes)
Commutable distance from Faro airport (no plans to hire car).
Local places of interests, markets, Ports etc
Somewhere that isn’t packed with drunken tourists..but equally somewhere that isn’t totally isolated and dead!

I’d appreciate any suggestions, I have been looking at Alvor but having never visited Portugal do not have a clue! Taxi fares to destination would also be useful!

At my favorite restaurant there are two teenage sisters who work as waitresses. They are originally from another country, so they speak both English and another language. I am fluent in both.

These girls insult practically every patron of this restaurant. Loudly and clearly. However, no one ever has a clue because they use their first language.

Yesterday, after hearing them mock a group of mentally challenged men that the local community center sponsors, I reached my breaking point.

When they passed by, I called them to our table and politely told them that it takes a pretty small person to make fun of someone for something they can’t control. They were extremely surprised and humiliated when I used their first language. They ran back into the kitchens and didn’t emerge while my husband and I finished our meal.

Now, my husband tells me that he was embarrassed by my actions, but I don’t think that I was in the wrong. No one else but the girls could understand me, so their jobs aren’t in danger.

Was my behavior out of line, or was this a valuable lesson for the girls?

So I’m a 16 year old girl. I’m looking for a job but the thing is I have no clue where to ask or look. I live in Houston. I need some help. Give me ideas?

Well I’m a hard worker & I learn fast. I would like to work as an sales associate. Yeah I have piercings but I’m willing to take them out for my job if needed & I have none natural colors bangs.

I’m not into working at a restaurant but if it’s the my last choose then I guess.

I just started working at a tiny restaurant with an old manager of mine from my first job. I got hired because she knew I was a great worker, and is using me to replace the two other girls who dont have a freakin’ clue and they have been working there for maybe a year or so. So my 2nd day running the place by myself, the drawer comes up $16 dollars short. (I know I didnt mess up, I had 5 orders the whole night and only one paid cash, and their change was only .72 cents) So anyways, the only way the drawer could have been shorted is during the day shft from the other girl. The owner didnt believe me and said next time it comes out of my pocket. What the hell!! I told him that we should count the drawer at the end of day shift to see who was short, but he said the receipt paper would get wasted and costs too much money. WTF do I do? I know these girls just wanna get me fired cause they know Im taking their job. Thanks for reading

There was a fairly new episode where they get on the couch, but everyone is food and comic book guy eats each family member at a restaurant, and is handed a check with the total and tax charges shown. Has anybody tried to calculate the sales tax and figure out the according state, or is this a dumb question?

well am returning to work she will be one month friday . well am a waitress and its like the whole day i get two hrs of break so i can come and bump but i don’t have a clue how to handle expressed milk for example am going to bump before i leave and to work do i just take the milk like that in the diaper bag or do i have to take it with an ice pack?
i might have to give up the breastfeeding which sucks because its going really well because i cant pump at work theres nowhere but the restroom its a restaurant i can only pump before i leave, during break, and when i get home though the night but the whole day i get in at 9 and get out at 10 or 11 pm

So theres this girls I am friends with, and I havent seen in her 3 years. But I moved to San Diego recently for 2 months for my summer internship and I met up with her again. That day she like kept hugging me and putting her head on my shoulder. Next time we hung out she like put her legs on me and laid down and we watched TV. Then when we hung out again recently, i put my arm around her and she like cuddled into me and put her legs onto my legs. She then gave me like a 2 minute hug and then left. And she’ll like ignore all calls from home or friends and like just snuggle with me. Shell like constantly touch me and everything. She grabs my arms a lot since they are kinda big and like when we were walking in the rain she wrapped her arms around mine and things like that

Sounds all good right? But then shes always telling me she’ll help me find a girl and wants to go have sex with a hot model and that when we went to a nice restaurant, she said why are there candlelights here, theres nothing romantic between us. and then she would tell me how her friends made it awkward when they said they like her instead of being just friends. and she like will always tell me were friends and all this crap. I have no clue to make a move and kiss her or not?

So it’s my girls birthday, and we decided to go bowling. With her friends, and four of her brothers. Her oldest brother, around 27-28 decides to invite two of his friends Which i don’t know at all. They decide to start drinking while bowling, and in one encounter one of the oldest brother friend comes over and calls me a weak ass out of nowhere, so I’m thinking. he is just one of those macho types, who likes to be the alpha male. His exact words. “your girlfriends taking a shot, why won’t you? You’re weak ass man”
After Bowling we head over to a wingstop,(restaurant) where this guy decides to take a piss outside on a tree in front of the place >.>. So i say, hey this guy isn’t goanna wash his hands so take don’t let him touch me.
Second encounter, First thing this guy does, as he walks into the restaurant with no respect for the other customers around him, and Chest bumps me into the cashier register, says, haha i scared him” I quickly move away from the guy, giving him his space and showed everyone by my actions that “hey, get this guy away from me,” by doing this I move away from him with my hands raised slightly up every time he walks close to me, and looking towards the people who is suppose to be taking care of they’re drunk friend like, you need to handle him. He continues for a while, saying “hes sacred, want me to scare him guys? want me to? Your boyfriend is weak,” I didn’t want to argue with drunk people… where does that get you…
My girlfriend got the clue, and separated him and me at the restaurant table.
This guy starts doing push up in the middle of the restaurant, being noisy and in the process slamming into the wall and hitting his head on the hanging lights.
Third encounter, After awhile he gets up, and makes his way behind my chair. Puts his filthy unwashed hands around my neck, then turns it into a choke hold. While people are laughing and watching out of our group, I tried to take his arms from around me. this goes on for a min of two, of me with a pissed off and annoyed face, trying to get out of his choke hold. He then takes his filthy fingers, puts it in his mouth, and sticks it in my ear,( I have a chronic outer and inner ear infection)
I snapped… stood up, turned around and gave him a right hook which missed. Pushed him down, and was about to stomp on his face, but got tackled from behind by my girlfriends older brothers. One which tries to punch me while me being held down.
I know I was in the wrong for not verbally telling him to stop in the choke hold. But I believe my actions couldn’t have been mistaking for anything else but for him to stop.
My question is, what would you guys have done? Is it entirely my fault? The guy is 7-8 years older than me… I was always thought to take care of my drunk friends, but I barely even knew this guy. Was the brother who tried to hit me in anyway just? Have you had to deal with someone like this? One of the brothers told me, to respect my elders… but shouldn’t respect only be given when shown? Thanks.

+ it was her birthday, and four of her older brothers were there.
