I’ve tried tons of recipe’s, and I’m a cook in a restaurant (does not make burgers). I can’t seem to figure out how to make my burger taste like the ones they make at bars and restaurants, is it the cast iron grill maybe? Grilling dust?

All I know is that this song comes on every time I’m at work. I work in a restaurant where the theme is southern (like ribs, bbq, burgers kinda deal) and this song is on the play list at work and I haven’t been able to figure it out. All I know is that it sounds country but not TOO country and it has a really catchy part where it goes “ring a ding ding.. can’t…” and the first couple words are “out on the..”

I had a foot long hot dog, large tater tots and pop then a hot fudge sundae.
While I did intake over 100% of all my different fat, sodium, cholesterol and nearly full blown calorie intake, I was amazed.
I thought the ice cream was by far the best frozen treat from any fast food restaurant I’ve ever had, tater tots better than all fries, and hot dog better than burgers!
Luckily I didn’t eat too much besides that today. Maybe I should go eat some fruit to try and even it out.
Well to tell you the truth I eat out a lot, much more than the average American.
Sometimes I find that something cheap can still be good. If I had a choice between this and spaghetti and meatballs from a fine Italian restaurant and this, I’d probably choose the spaghetti, but I still found this meal really good. The tater tots were better than fries from any restaurant and the ice cream too! $10 deserts can have a placebo effect.

1. If one orders a burger in Europe, is it generally not asked how you want it done? Went to Amsterdam and Scotland on my honeymoon in May, and in between my more adventurous culinary pursuits, I had two burgers…they never asked, and both were beyond well done when they arrived.
2. Is the wait for your check generally longer in Europe? My wife and I consistently sat there for 10-15 minutes before anyone came back to our table, and even then they looked surprised when we asked for the check. Is it standard to sit for quite awhile after finishing a meal in Europe? Just used to the States where the check generally comes very quickly…
Thanks!
To be clear - we both loved our time in Europe and will be back next year (to Amsterdam, at least). These are two minor curiosities/quibbles for an otherwise outstanding experience.

I went to this little bistro with a friend of mine; turns out it was closed for renovations. My friend has done legal work for him before, and we all use to work in the same bank, so she calls him, and he opens the restaurant for us. We all got along really well; his day was just winding down, he made us kobe burgers, and creme brulee. I needed a cake shaped like the “Operation” game (you know, the one where it’s surgery and you avoid the sides). He agreed to do it on 2 days notice. Not sure how much our bill was, but we gave him $40, and he gave $7 back. I suggested just giving him the change; but he said, “no no, just give it to Christine.” Christine didn’t want it either; she kept it, and sneakingly left it in my car.
My question is…given that he opened his closed restaurant for us, made kobe burgers, and gave me priority on my cake. Should we have left him the tip? He does own the bistro, along with 2 others; he’s definitely not hurting. Tip or no tip?

I’m currently employed at a fast food restaurant and you could probably imagine how hot it can get around the place where they cook the burgers. Usually I won’t have a problem with except sometimes if I get to close to it for too long, my forehead sweats like a beast. I know sweating is a way the body cools itself but there HAS to be something I could do. And I really enjoy working in that field so I want to stay but the heat is almost unbearable at times. Also, i’m not looking for “Stay away from the heat” as an answer but more things I could do in prep. before I go to work.
Thanks in advance!

I just saw this on yahoo when I went to check my mail. I was disgusted by this. Who would want to eat an elegant lion?! It’s a restaurant in Mesa, Arizona.
Here’s the Link:

Cat Lover.. how awful does that sound? The create slaughter houses for these big cats. Shows how much of a big cat lover you are! And does it make it right? NO

Not including Subway, I mean the McDonalds, BK, Taco Bell, KFC and Jack and the Box. The main thing I like best about Wendy’s is the lettuce on their burgers is ALWAYS FRESH. And it’s great, in salads too I notice with other veggies. Go to BK or McD’s and the lettuce is soggy, covered in mayo and brown, SICK! I don’t eat fast food much but when I do Wendy’s is always my choice if I want a burger. (even if they are square lol) What you think?
Never heard of Five Guys, any in Seattle? I’ll have to check it out.
