Open Question: My friend’s mom doesn’t want me to come to the birthday dinner?
heres the deal,
its my best friends bday party tomorrow. at 6:30 we’re all gonna meet at this restaurant and eat dinner, then at 8:00 we’re gonna head to the movie theater and see a movie.
anyways i have practice from 5:30-7:30, but since its my friends bday im going to leave early. so my mom called my friends mom to find out when they were planning on leaving the restaurant (so she can know wether or not to drop me off at the restaurant or the movie theater depending what time i arrive)
anyways then her mom started rambling on about how theres already going to be 11 people and the restaurants really small! (so pretty much she prefers if i dont come) but i find this rather rude and horrible ettiquite as a host. i dont feel welcome to come, i guess shes using the fact that since im the only person whos coming late, that i shouldnt come to the dinner so it will be easier on them.
well the thing is, i COULD leave practice early enough to make it in time. but now i dont really want to if she prefers if i dont come? what should i do? i mean im the only one out of the 6 other girls who are coming straight from practice. they all eiehter dont have practice on fri, or their practice ends at like 4:30. so they would have time to eat beforehand if needed.
but im the ONLY one whos coming straight from practice meaning i dont get that chance to eat. so if i just show up for the movie, i wont have eaten any food, and trust me, i play lacrosse, i NEED the food after practice desperately.
what should i do? i sort of want to find a very discreet way to make them feel bad for not exactly wanting me there, cause in a way, it was a huge diss. yet i dont want to embarrass anyone but seriously, i was so embarrassed when my mom told me what happened!
