Open Question: I am 22 years old. How may I show my 31 year old female friend that I would like us to be something more?
She is my sister’s governess, and I know she is currently unattached–she ended a relationship of five years last fall (as did I). We usually converse for three to four continuous hours, twice a week, about themes ranging from the trivial to very personal life experiences. She hugs me tightly both when greeting and leaving, and when we talk she ‘mirrors’ my gestures, which I am led to believe is a sign of attraction. I have invited her to lunch next week under the pretence of ‘discussing my sister’, and she agreed. Should I bring up any particular theme for conversation? Should I behave in a particular manner in the restaurant? How could I subtly show her that I am very seriously interested in her? Would this last strategy be conductive to my–honourable–goals? I am utterly lost at this, so I thank you beforehand for any well intentioned and constructive guidance you may provide.
