Ok so I’m having my sweet sixteen in July and I finally decided to have a party with about 15 of my friends. I want it during the night at around 8pm, when it’s dark. I want something to do in my backyard. Like a mini ice-skating rink.. I want the party to be appropriate, and right now I’m dreaming of something like a midsummer nights dream setting with all those flowers and lanterns. But here’s the problem, In my backyard there are the humongous tree on the right side and there is space on the left is about 32.5×60ft. I want something that everyone could enjoy, something that is not boring yet at the same time, it doesn’t’ have music blaring and waking up the neighbours. No tents, only Fresh air. It would be helpful if you guys told me some websites where I can get party supplies. So far I want:
A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cake (totally not with the theme, but I still want it)
and
Lanterns

I also don’t want to go out to a fancy restaurant anywhere, just at home with my parents and my friends. Any suggestions?
by the way I live in the Lower Main Land of British Columbia (langley, surrey, delta, richmond)

first ima say, i work at a very busy restaurant. centrally located in our city. im a dishwasher…but not for long, i hope..only reason im being one is because eventually theylll put me on a more creative role, like a cook
i love to create. arts. music especially, and even food.
its always a lifelong skill any gender should have of being a cook.
but anyways, you guys probably care about that right now, im just really baked and i think hard when i do
i am putting up with alot of frequent demand and constant dishwashing. im 19 years old, washing dishes, i feel like a loser,
so i tend to show that im a pissed guy during the busiest times, especially closing when the entire restaurants dishes thats just been used and used all day are coming at me. i get a little aggravated but i never blame it on anyone in the restaurant, i know that its a busy restaurant on one of the busiest streets in the city. and everyone is just doing there job…which is to meet our customers needs asap..its a business right? but i still find myself getting really pissed, i dont release my anger towards anyone but i know everyone around me can feel it. i have this vibe on myself that projects heavily onto people. it makes me look like an ass to the ladies and somewhat a douche to my co workers, they are all chill hilarious dudes
one more thing, they usually have one dishwasher a shift, like one 9 til 5 one til 5 to 11
the boston pizza i worked at (which is not even located in a busy area) seriously had 3 dishwashers for most of the day, like afternoon til close…
im surprised that there is only one (for most hours alone) dishwasher for one of the busiest restaurants.
i just need some help, anyone been through this? what are ways to redeem yourself from stupid impressions you make of yourself to everyone in your new surrounding? i know this hasnt been the first time ive unintentionally did something similiar.
i should stop smoking pot though.
i appreciate the answers. i would like to get a few things clarified. i never went to boston for a cooking class. im just an ordinary employee at a restaurant as a “Recruit” meaning i will eventually become a cook, in the mean time, i must be a dishwasher.
i get alot of waitress traffic where i work, which is a pleasant thing for my job, being in the company of veryyy beautiful women, but sometimes i do look at little mad because i am surprised to how much dishes are needed to be put through everyday, especially when theres only one guy with three different tasks such as, rinsing, putting away and handwashing the stuff that doesnt go through washer. PLUS meeting demands of other co workers. i just want to know better ways of maintaining professional, optimistic attitude. I enjoy my job because of all the really hot women, is that shallow as well? i havent been in a relationship in almost 2 years

I’m a small town girl, attending UCLA.. and I was quite starstruck when I famous, gorgeous actor walked into the restaurant where I work.. I mean living here I’ve managed to see a few famous people but none of famous or attractive as him. To my surprise he actually asked for my number when I brought him his check, totally out of the blue.. I thought for sure he thought I was an idiot because I was kind of stumbling over my words while taking his order and stuff. Anyway, we’ve actually been hanging out for the past few weeks and well, I’m not one to fall in love fast but feelings are quickly developing. He’s constantly telling me how amazing and pretty I am, and how he’s been searching for someone like me (I’m pretty sweet, simple and genuine, I guess thats hard to find in LA).

My thing is I’m totally afraid of falling for him. I mean, I’m not severely jealous but I don’t know if I could handle knowing that thousands of other women are already obsessed with him. I’ve dated quite attractive non-famous guys before and JUST that is hard enough-fending off the other women.

Also I know that while shooting movies, actors have to work very closely and intimately with people of the opposite gender.. and I’m pretty sure he could get ANY women he wanted. But he’s so sweet..and the chemistry is just amazing. I’m really confused.

Should I back off or go for it, and how do I deal with my paranoia and worries about it. Has anyone here dated a celebrity before?

He’s like Jason Lewis/Chad Michael Murray famous, not Brad Pitt/Johnny Depp famous, and no I’m not going to reveal his identity.

Ideas please..

Whenever I pay for food in a restaurant or at a bar, I have a tendency to round up and not ask for change. For example, last week the bill for my dinner including tax came to $23.25. A tip at 20% of the total would bring the grand total to about $28. So I gave the bartender a twenty and a ten and said to keep the change. I figured it’s only two bucks and it would be viewed as a nice gesture.

Anyone else out there have a tendency to do this?
Sorry, I should also have mentioned I only had tens and twenties in my wallet that night.
